What's going on USMC. I just got a brand spankin' new PC last year, so I'm thinking of getting a nice FPS game. Seeing as how I haven't even played MOHAA or anything for a long time. I'm checking out CoD4 and MOH:A at the moment.
However I'm not sure if I can even run any of those two games very well. So the big question is, how exactly do I look at my system specs? |

I know everyone else is going to say this, so download a program called cpu-z
or if you want basics, right click on the 'My Computer' burron and go to properties, that should tell you your processor and quantity of ram. But otherwise, use cpu-z
And don't buy moh:a, it sucks, cod4 is pretty good, so is bf:2, and bf:3 which wont come out for a while is looking pretty good |

Start>control panel>system
That will tell you what operating system you have, the processor, and how much ram you have. For your vid card, simply right click on an empty space on your screen. Then go to properties>settings>advanced and click on the adapter tab. You should be able to see what vid card you have with the amount of on-board ram.
Edit: I was going to suggest CPU-Z, or even Everest Home Edition, but this requires no downloading. |

System requirements Minimum:
- Intel Pentium 4 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 2800+ processor or any 1.8Ghz Dual Core Processor or better supported
- 512MB RAM (768MB for Vista)
- NVIDIA Geforce 6600 or better or ATI Radeon 9800 Pro or better
- 8 Giga bytes of free hard disk space
Recommended:
- 2.4 GHz dual core or better is recommended
- 1024MB RAM (2048MB for Vista)
- 3.0 Shader Support recommended. Nvidia Geforce 7800 or better or ATI Radeon X1800 or better:
If you can figure out if your motherboard has a PCI-E video card slot this is the new hotness with the best bang per buck... 8800GT's. H00T and Mnkey are running this fine on old P4 systems with 1 gig of ram, and 7300gs nvidia and 1600 series ati respectively. The video card is by far the most important piece of hardware for a good experience. |

| I have an 8600GTS in my system, I am able to have everything maxed out with 80fps on nearly all the maps. |

| My system actually has trouble at times... one minute it will hit 200fps but the next it will drop down to 25fps. I think it is the dynamic lighting, the 8xxx series cards do that way better than mine. I forgot to mention thought that card i suggested is right only like 5fps below the 8800gtx in almost all benchmarks on Tomshardware.com. It also costs 200 dollars less. |
